On the Noggin channel, there is a song called "It's a ball" and Gunnar absolutely loves it. We recorded a video of him during the song on daddy's new Flip Video, it is hilarious...he gets this deep belly laugh. Enjoy!

Christmas Day

Christmas was so much fun for Gunnar and for us. He was a little overwhelmed with the new toys...workbench, Wall E table/chairs, drumset, Transformers tent, and a play kitchen that took daddy over 2 1/2 hours to put together.

Silly boy...

Last night we were changing Gunnar for bed and he started acting silly making funny faces and posing for the camera. Here are a few shots of him with his new giant remote (all the buttons light up when you touch it which he loves) being silly.

Gunnar's 2nd Birthday Party

Gunnar's birthday party was at Peter Piper Pizza in Frisco. We had a great time with everyone who attended...thank you again for coming to celebrate with us.
The theme was Cars, Gunnar loves Lightning and the other characters.

Christmas Tree

We put the Christmas tree up this year the weekend after Thanksgiving. Gunnar was a little more interested in it this year than last. Next year should be interesting, we think he will go for the presents more than the tree.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. I cooked my first turkey and dressing. I also made pumpkin pie and a chocolate cake recipe that is 3 desserts you can make into a cake. Plus the truffle macaroni and cheese and broccoli cheese casserole, it was so GOOD!

We then did the Black Friday shopping. We love the experience and the madness to an extent. Walmart had great deals and great big crazy crowds. We decided we will still do it each year but also go online to get some things.

Halloween

Costumes are hard to find for Gunnar's age: they are either up to 12 months or Small 4-6. I found two that we liked and went with.....Fantastic Four's Johnny Storm! It was surprising that it fit in the body and was just a little long in the legs. But he has been wearing bigger than his age clothes in all 2 year life, why would now be different. We LOVE the puffy chest and arms!

Reading his book and sitting in his recliner while waiting to go meet Aunt Emily, Uncle Josh, and Cousin Cash.

We went with Emily, Josh, and Cash to the Prestonwood Church Fall Festival on Halloween. It was huge. The kids were overwhelmed with all the people and cool games going on. I think the next few years will be more exciting for them and they will definitely be more involved in the games...just a little too young this year.

Aunt Kynda

Aunt Kynda came up from Bastrop for their baby showers. We loved seeing her and she looks BEAUTIFUL! She came over on Sunday night to visit and watch a movie with us. Gunnar walked over to her and touched her belly. We said that is Bailey. He leaned over and it looked like he was giving the belly a kiss...it was adorable.

I got the one of him leaning over and touching the belly but couldn't get reset fast enough to get one of him "kissing the belly".

Its all gone

We decided to cut Gunnar's hair a little in the back since it was getting long though it would curl up into ringlets. Then the next week we decided to really cut it in the back...cutting it all off. It looks so much older now, no longer a baby boy but now a little boy. At first I wasn't sure I liked it, it was so different to see him with no hair in the back...our little baby boy was gone. But now we love it. We kept the bangs longer with the back short.

You got me

Okay, Kynda I owe you an apology...I said something to her this summer for not blogging enough. And now I am the one who hasn't updated in months.

ABR Test--All went well. Gunnar's hearing is perfect. A sigh of relief. He just already ignores us we suppose...that selective hearing.
Above is Gunnar at the Pumpkin Patch on October 11. We went with Emily, Josh, and Cash. It was perfect weather for the patch that morning.

June days

Smile big for the camera!

We are enjoying summer, I can't believe that it is already the end of June. Nick has started working nights at 24 Hour Fitness and Torii is a pro at her job at McDonald's. Nick is also getting his personal trainer certification this summer for his job and to work with Josh's baseball teams.

We have several summer projects in the works--painting the house, new carpet, organizing closets, etc. A lot of things to keep us busy this summer.

We have planned a weekend getaway in July with Chris/Kynda and Josh/Emily/Cash. July is our only time to all get together with summer camps all summer long and 2-a-days starting the first week of August. We are going to a lakehouse cabin at Lake Texoma, it is beautiful and right on the lake shore.

4th of July is next week and we are excited for Gunnar to see fireworks. We are planning on going to the Frisco Freedomfest then watching the fireworks from Pizza Hut Park or visiting Chris/Kynda in Bastrop.

Summer time

We are a week into the summer and we have had a busy one. I am working APE, our summer conditioning camp for the girls; Nick started at 24 Hour Fitness and Torii got her first job at McDonald's (she started Thursday).

We had Gunnar's 18 month doctor's appointment and all is well. He is in the 95-97% in height, weight, and head.
Weight: 28.5 lbs
Height: 34 inches
Head: 20 inches
Nick says it is funny to watch me carry Gunnar because he is 1/2 my height, standing he is already up to the top my leg.

And he is enjoying the sound of his voice more and more.

The Olson family blog

Here is our new family blog. We are following suit with Josh/Emily and Chris/Kynda. This is the best way to keep everyone up to date with Gunnar and his ever changing life.

He is 16 months old, 25 lbs. and over 32 inches in height.
